Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio U.S.A. The 2016 Olympics were held at Rio de Janeiro and Biles was the U.S.'s only female gymnast ever to earn 4 gold medals. She also won the world championship for all-around three times consecutively (2013-15). Biles was born at home in Spring Texas, in the Houston metropolitan area. Biles and her sister Adria had been adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone was first drawn to the sport of gymnastics when she was just 6. Her coach Aimee Borman invited her to Bannon's Gymnastix, where they went on a field trip. Biles won a gold medal for vault and also a medal in floor during the 2010 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. In 2011, she began playing in elite levels of competition. In less than two years, she became the most successful athlete in her discipline. Biles stood out for her consistent performance, exuberant persona, and the difficult routines she performed in the four events she competed in including vault, bars with uneven surfaces, and balance beam.
